I live in the Lotus River Area of Cape Town. I decided to log onto the Vodacom website about a month ago and check the coverage map for 3G in my area. To my disappointment, after I entered my address I realized that my house falls outside the coverage area.
This of course explains alot. We are 5 occupants in our household, all of us, have 3G enabled devices but none of them ever connect via the 3G netwrok, the best we get is EDGE.
I also have a CELL C modem which I use on a regular basis as it is the only way to get any downloads, work etc done. I have heard talk of a possible development or plans to build a 'cell tower' in the Pelican park area to boost the signal. yet nothing has been done.
I would most likely spend money on purchasing vodacom data bundles, if I actually managed to obtain a 3G signal, but right now my Vodacom 3G card is gathering dust and I am considering changing SP's and the rest of my family and neighbours feel the same.
Will there be any plans to boost the signal in my area please??
