Not advising to additional costs

Good day

I upgraded my phone from blackberry to Samsung s4 mini. On the request whereby the SP called me for the upgrade and I asked to keep my monthly bill to approximately the same, I was guaranteed that it would not increase. I had the phone for less than a week and my bill was R2518.22. I contacted Vodacom and they advised me that it is because of all the updates.

I myself do not work with cell phones everyday and I was not advised that the updates would run and cost me additional money due to me thinking that the data I had would cover it. In this call the man who assisted me kept saying that it is my own fault and that Vodacom does not provide training as such. I did not ask for any training all I asked for is why I was not advised on how to turn off the updates nor was I advised that I would have a bill of R2518.22 after a week.

With this money at one week there is four weeks in a month which adds up to R10 720 I could of then just saved my money and gone onto prepaid.

i would appreciate it if you could look into the matter ..as i am on debt review and cannot afford that kind of money..
