Water Resistent, Se... Sony Experia Z... ero

I recently used my Sony Xperia Z in water, within the limits allowed and advertised. Hours after using the phone in water, my phone switched off and would not switch on. I tried to charge it but it just vibrated. I took my phone to MTN Corporate Cellular Connection on Rietfontein Rd in Boksburg who sent it for repairs to (HVRC Midrand) job number CCCB03772255. Upon return i was advised that due to liquid damage it would not be repaired or covered under the warranty. I subsequently sent an email on 3/12/13 to both mtn customer service and Sony to explain what happened and to highlight the fact that i think that their policy on this particular phone is hypocritical simply because the phone is advertised as water resistant and therefore some allowance should be made for possible fault from a manufacturing point of view. I received an email from Sony who pointed to the warranty. No response received from MTN. I again received a phone call from Sony who insinuated i was negligent by leaving the flaps open..How dare you... please prove this.. I would like a copy of the manufacturing tests conducted on my particular phone to prove its fail safe limits were indeed carried out...
