Sony Xperia V has an IP 55/57 certificate, which states it can be submerged in fresh water of 1 metre up to 30 minutes. As one night a glass of water fell on the phone, the phone worked, however the next day it did not. Sent it into MTN, where warranty was rejected on the grounds of water damage. This cannot be the case, as at the time of the incident, ALL PORTS as well as back cover were sufficiently closed, so a manufacturing fault should be best alternative. Ive had endless trouble proving my case - and clearly Sony Mobile is advertising something of which it does not hold (i.e IP 55/57 certificate). Sony have asked for the phone, however the chances of getting a new one, seems unlikely, due to all the complications regarding the phones water characteristics. Sony Mobile no doubt false advertised and one reason of which why I took the phone is cause of its water characteristics
