I have been to MTN Morningside service provider offices to cancel my data contract with MTN, this was in October.
The contract expired on the 25 of November 2013. I submitted the necessary documentation to the gentleman who helped me and filled out the necessary forms. I even watched him email the documentation to the retentions/cancellations department. A week later, I call their call centre to check if the cancellation has been captured - lo and behold, NOPE. The lady I spoke to tells me she will note the data contract as cancelled and all is fine. 2 weeks later (today) I call the call center again, no - the contract was not cancelled.
In the mean time offcourse, MTN will take the liberties with my bank account on a contract I have told them several times to cancel.
Keep up the good work MTN, 2 contracts cancelled thus far - 1 more to go and I'm reed of your bad customer service.
It's a pity as I've been a loyal customer since 2005 (contract, who never missed a payment). 2014 is the year I will be closing all my dealings with MTN.
