IS MTN CUSTOMER DATA BASE INSECURE?

A few years ago I opened a contract with a debit order from MTN in my name for my son. After the contract period was up we changed the contract to my son and my account was closed. On 15 June 2013 a debit order to the amount of R6975.02 was attempted. I called the MTN call centre on 16 June 2013 and reported the incident where they confirmed the account has been activated, the agent told me he had converted the account to 'cash' to prevent further debit order attempts. I emailed MTN in writing, logged a case with the SAPS and informed my bank. After many emails and references I got nothing from MTN. In Oct I got a call from a MTN account agent who asked me if I was aware my account was now in excess of R33000.00! After I gave him all my ref & SAPS case number he confirmed he would personally call the dept & have this corrected. On 6 Nov I emailed MTN again, on 4 Dec I got my 1st response. Another ref 7282369!! A month later! Is MTN data base so insecure? Are MTN customers accounts being hacked that they cannot attend to 1 case in 6 months and it takes an email a month to be acknowledged???
