I took out an 8ta data contract over a year ago on a debit order. All was well until March/April 2013 when my bank mistakenly rejected a debit order. I only discovered this when 8ta suspended my data service at the beginning of June 2013 upon which I investigated and found a lot of discrepancies amongst which is the fact that 8ta did not retry to debit my account. In May and June there were no debit orders therefore no payments. No one informed me of all of this and yet there were funds in my account. On 17 June, I settled the arrears amount. I was told that the account would be unsuspended within 48 hours. Today, 23 July the account is still suspended. I cannot call 8ta because their only call centre number 081180 is not accessible via my landline and it is too expensive to call on my mobile. I went to the 8ta branch office in Sandton City on Friday, 19 July where they made me wait for 1, 5 hours only to tell me that they logged a call, so, I am not going back there. I wish to write to the CEO of 8ta but I cannot find his/her contact details. I am hoping that someone will respond to this post. If that does not happen I will end the contract and cut my losses and headaches.
