Brand new iphone, hardware faulty. Vodacom carry the warranty, Cellucity supplied the phone. I am returning overseas for work. Neither Cellucity or Vodacom will pay to courier the phone when repaired to me. I have 4 contracts with Vodacom, have spent a fortune with them over many many years.
I am inconvenienced by not having a phone to use, will not have use of wifi apps now and will have a hefty bill for calls and messaging back to family and business associates back in South Africa. Notwithstandng all of this, the companies that gained profit from the sale of the phone are passing the costs back to me of getting the phone back!!!
Where are my consumer rights?
I find this service or lack of it unacceptable, and to top it all Cellucity says I must ask Outsurance to pay for the courier costs as it was a phone provided on an Outsurane claim! Where is the logic in that??? Outsurance gave me outstanding service in arranging the replacement phone within 1 day and have honoured their financial committment to Cellucity. Talk about passing the buck...
