My phone was on 30/11/2013. I have a mycall 100 contract for more than 10 years with MTN, with an excellent credit rating. I reported the phone at Featherbrook Village MTN, the sales assistant then told be to do a sim swop, and that he will block the old phone and simcard. I then got an SMS to say that I have exceeded my credit limit of R 7500.00 (I am not even aware of this high limit) and the contract is suspended. According to MTN the Featherbrook Village store did not block the old simcard. I am now liable for more than R 7500.00. all they say is " we are sorry for any inconvenience caused" They do not look at my history, they refuse to give me a itimised billing account - I have to have a police case number before I can get an account (!) from them. MTN can see that it was not me who made the phone calls, I never authorised such a high credit limit, but now I am responsible for the account. Is this how they treat their loyal clients???
