MTN - I pay, they pass the buck

I fell into arrears and started paying my account @ R350 per month since last year end May.

I know I was in arrears, but when my contract was expiring at end Oct 2012, I wanted to make sure that the contract was at least cancelled so that I would not at least be charged every month extra.
So basically, still pay what I owe (of course), but not be charged extra for an extented contract.

Guys!! this is not possible. Firstly, I have been paying MTN directly since May 2012, when I asked for my balance in July 2012, I get told I must call MBD Attorney's. If MTN does not want my money, why has it never just been sent back to me. I am paying MTN, not MBD Attorney's, I have been doing so now for the last 17 months, and STILL I get no feedback from MTN.
I tried three times at different branches in the East Rand, and they all tell me the same thing, we cannot help...

So please, tell me then who can help!! Fall behind, and your contract will be extended forever!!!
I am NOT saying that I was not in arrears, because I was, and I acknowlege this... but seriously, must I continue with this contract, how will I stay ahead... I wonder if I will at least get someone's attention???
