Autopage
(Invalid) Insurance rejection

In March 2011 I renewed my contract with Autopage. I got an iPhone through another supplier and went to Autopage to insure this device in the same month. I filled out the relevant details, stating clearly that I did not purchase the phone from them and since then have been paying R118/pm insurance since. This month my phone has stopped working and I took the phone in to Autopage only for them to tell me that due to the fact I did not buy the phone from them it would not be covered. Yet, they were more than happy to insure it since then. Autopage wanted to refund me all the premiums I have paid to date. I declined this.

I have since taken my phone to iFix to get a quote. iFix have since responded saying the phone is irreparable. This further underlines why I took out insurance in the first place to cover myself should such a device fault occur. I do not want my premiums back, I seek to have the phone repaired or replaced as it should be under normal circumstances.

I have been a client of Autopage since 2000 and have spent in excess of R170 000 on my contracts. I expect this to be resolved promptly and to my original expectations.
