Updated OS leads Network Connectivity Proplems

I got myself the new iPhone 5. The phone gave me no problems, up until an new update was available for the Operating System, iOS 6.1. I installed the update last night, the 29th of January 2013 and ever since then the phone continues to drop signal to the network. Today I went to Vodaworld in Midrand, to collect an Samsung Galaxy Pocket, which accidently suffered the same problem from the beginning.

No I asked the consultant, what the problem could be and the answer was, "SOFTWARE UPDATES, CORRUPTS THE PHONE"?! The Samsung Galaxy Pocket works now that the software has been updated, but now, the iPhone gives problems.

Now that is unacceptable! The updates of an particular phone get send to all the phone of same make and model... Why does one network provider suffer with the problem and not the others? Why does the consultant tell me that an software update, provided by the manufacturer, will corrupt the phone? That is the reason for them sending out the updates in the first place, to sort out bug etc in the software. All that this explains is that there must be an common problem from the Network Providers. Two different phones suffering the same network related problem?..
