Bought Samsung S4 phone with new MTN contract in July 2013. Phone's battery faulty after 3 months. MTN store manager, Bennie Helberg, would not replace battery - he claimed battery not covered by phone warranty! Battery swelled and bent phone screen causing the screen to peel off. Bennie Helberg says they will repair my phone but will not replace it because I do not have the box in which it came. MTN Terms & conditions say I need the box only if phone is to be replaced within 7 days after purchase. The T&C's do not say that the box is necessary when the phone is defective within 6 months after purchase. IT IS LUDICROUS THAT THE WARRANTY OF THIS R8, 000 PHONE HINGES ON A CARDBOARD BOX. I have tried, in vain, to make contact with MTN's Legal Department to discuss the wording of their contract and I can get no satisfaction from them. Bennie Helberg says he is correct and that's that!!! I don't know what else to do or who else to contact.
