Cell C
Faulty Phone

My wife and I changed to Cell C and subscribed to their '200' deals. We decided on the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro phones as it has a keypad and is relatively inexpensive. Upon receipt we weren't happy with the phones as the phone needs to be charged twice per day, the voice quality is terrible, SMS's fail. Voicemails arrive in clusters, not individually! We assumed this was mostly down to the Cell C network.

My mom also had this phone via MTN but switched to her old phone. I contacted Cell C after 10 months (after my wife had been to the shops a number of times) to ask for an early upgrade. My wife had since purchased a HTC and ecstatic with the call quality. They insisted I pay the rest of the value for the phone to cancel.

Initially I contacted Cell C via their web site, no response. I then called their support department.
I had to call their support via Telkom, as they could not hear me on my cell and my call failed after five minutes! A supervisor was suppose to return my call, no luck. I called again, told they would open a case. Still... no call.

I don't understand. Cell C are still to make R200 x 14 from me if I just get a decent phone. Instead I'm likely to cancel alltogether.
