On Thursday 7/11/2013 after 5 pm I upgraded my MTN contract at MTN Cellnetwork franchise store in Brooklyn Mall, receiving a new Samsung GS4. (Following day I was admitted to hospital for an operation). Since about Tue (12th), I started noticing problems with Samsung's battery discharging too rapidly and getting too hot. On 7th day since upgrade, being Thu (14th), I finally managed to take phone in to store for MTN's 7 day swap out guarantee. When I got to Brooklyn Mall, branch was closed, windows covered with brown papers & no contact details given. Proceeding next to MTN Service Centre in Brooklyn, we were told they could not assist & were referred to Menlyn Centre branch of Cellnetwork franchise. At Menlyn branch we were duly informed that 14/11/2013 in fact was 8th day (when clearly 7th) & they would not honour MTN's 7 day swap. Were attended to by Yolanda &, after initially been refused access to management, eventually an Area Man named Taryn Davidson. Service really unprofessional, not at all trying to resolve our query, not taking circumstances into account. They insisted nothing could be done & only option would be to take phone in for repairs. Not keeping to MTN's contract
