I signed a STD MyGIG2 data contract on 22 October 2013 with Vodacom 4U and I'm still waiting for the modem which was advertised as part of a special deal. I was initially told they were out of stock so I returned to the store 3 days later only to be told the modem offered on that contract was discontinued and that there are "none left in the country". The store's (Vodacom's) position is that the special was the same price as a "STD Sim only on MyGiG2" contract and therefore I don't "loose out" by not getting a modem. Regardless of the store's / Vodacom's position I have a contract and an invoice that says "My GiG2 contract & K4305 modem". I expect to receive a modem with the deal.
I have not heard from the store for some time now so I am assuming that Vodacom is not going to honour it's advertised contract and expects me to just accept the "out of stock item"? My expectation is that Vodacom finds a modem as advertised or a similar or equal replacement modem capable of the same speeds.
I expect action to be taken sooner rather than later considering Vodacom's policy of expiring data if not used. It also doesnt help that I cannot log on to my Vodacom 4U account any more
