My name is Brian September. In 2010 I took out a 2yr contract at Vodacom 4u Kollonade. I basically only wanted the instrument & NEVER used the SIM. The contract came to an end in Nov 2012. I did not give instruction to terminate, so they continued to debit my account in spite of the inactive SIM. On May 14 2013, I queried this and gave instruction for immediate termination. On 26 June I sent another email asking why they still debit my account. Only then they responded by giving me a number to call. I requested an email address, as I could not get through to the number. They failed to respond to this reasonable request.
2 Sep 2013: I instructed my bank to stop the debit order after Vodacom 4u took another payment at end Aug. I informed the shop accordingly. This week I found out that they have listed me with ITC for the amount of R940. I think this is ludicrous and constitutes "bullying of the consumer". Vodacom 4U Kollonade; 012-5483037.
Hopefully you can get them to withdraw this from ITC and cancel the apparent balance? If not, I will go to Ombudsman. Thanks.
