I bought a Sony Experia V smartphone from MTN on contract 2 months ago. One of the main features that attracted me to this product was the water resistant capability. Sony claims the phone is water resistant and can be submerged in waters of up to 1.5 meters for a period of 30 minutes.

I put the phone in water (Sink) for about 2minutes after making sure that all the ports and back cover were correctly sealed (as illustrated) and water somehow got into the phone and the phone was damaged.

I have contacted both MTN and Sony and both companies said that there is nothing they can do to help me.
