GOING AGAINST THE CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT

On Sun 27 Oct, we bought a cover with screen guard for a BB9720 phone from the Vodacom Data Store Canal Walk. The Salesman, Jenery put on the back cover, but told us to put on the screen guard at home. When taking out the screen guard we saw it was badly scratched & immediately called Jenery to say I'd be in to get another.

Last night (3 days later) I went back to the store with the slip, cover, screen guard & all packaging. Another salesman, Jacque de Lange (miserable & unfriendly guy) looked at the screen guard & gave me another. I asked him to open & check it before I left & we saw that is had exactly the same damage. He said "oh it's all the same", so I asked for our money back, only to be told "no cash refunds". I said it's not even 7 days & that it's against the law for them to do that, when the CPA says a customer can return faulty goods within 30 days if they have the slip & all packaging. Then he rudely asks for my slip, says he must ask Gareth, who never even acknowledges me. He then tells Jacque to call Adrianna (manager) & gives back my R159 when he gets off the phone with her. Why all this hassle when they sold us a faulty product? Is the no refund policy not illegal?
