The earpiece speaker in my iPhone failed within the first year. I took it to the Vodacom store in Cresta, where they referred me to the Cresta service centre. The service centre did not have loan phones and I was sent to Vodaworld in Midrand. There, after a 30 min wait, I was informed that it would take 14 days to assess the phone. When I arrived home I realised that the loan phone did not work and I had to go all the way back to Midrand. I spent three hours of my day running after Vodacom. When I insisted that I be reimbursed for my loss (travelling, income, etc. I am self-employed) I was told that they would give one month's free subscription. My loss was at least 8 times what they offered and I still do not have a usable phone. The ridiculous little thing is absolutely useless. No Bluetooth, so I can't use it in my car and I travel frequently for work. Their attitude is patronising. This is big company bullying the little guy. It took 30 minutes to sell me the phone and now 14 day to replace it. Vodacom is utterly useless, but unfortunately there is nothing better. It is a sad day when companies compete to see who can just get away with poor service.
