Vodacom
End of my tethe

IPhone5 bought from Vodacom in Nov, malfunctioned 17 Jan. After 2 full days between V-com Rosebank & Sandton, 2 Istores to which they referred me, I went to customer care in Vodaworld Midrand on Tues 21 Jan, with Apple jobcard stating that phone was in pristine condition but has unfixable hardware problem. V-com insisted on booking phone into advanced repair centre anyway, for "assessment", before it can be replaced i.t.o guarantee. Upon hearing my tale, I was given loan phone & told by Bheki (manager) I'd have replacement phone in 48 hrs.
My phone still not ready, today 29 Jan, more than a week, another trip to Vodaworld & countless phone queries later. Help centre informs me phone "still being assessed". Bheki has ignored several calls & messages. He did answer twice but could not give me any substantive information either time. On both occasions I was told that he'd get info immediately and phone me back, which he then did not do, while ignoring further calls from me.
I don't understand how V-com can assess a phone they know to be broken for more than a week without outcome, whilst keeping the customer hanging like this. I suspect unwillingness to bear guarantee cost.
