Vodacom Samsung S4 repairs non service

I've got an S4 on contract with Vodacom which is being used by my wife, she's a pharmacist at an old age home and always on standby, which means she needs a phone at all times. The S4 then got a swollen battery as per what seems to be a major problem with the S4's we then took the phone to Cresta Vodacom on Saturday 12 Oct who promptly insisted that they have to wipe all the data and settings on the phone before giving her a new battery, this was done (I had to pay for backing up the data and restoring it), but when the phone was then switched on it couldn't receive any signal whatsoever. We then had to book the phone back in and as per normal Vodacom did not have any loan phones available.

Still haven't got the phone back.

When my wife needed to get a new phone I insisted she choose the S4 as I believed it to be the best available, because the Cell phone companies
in SA is so unresponsive to consumers that you can't afford to have a phone that's not reliable.

The way Samsung has been handling the situation on the batteries for the S4's is proving to the consumers to be no different than the cell phone companies.
