Hi,
My Samsung Galaxy S3 fell from the height of less than 1m yesterday resulting in the screen cracking. I went to the N1 City store to find out how i should go about getting the device repaired. After waiting for approx. 20 Min i was "helped" by a lady (Cant tell you her name as she was not wearing a name tag, nor a MTN uniform). When i asked her about my device, she told me that if it is not insured there is nothing that MTN could do.
Before going to the store i had already assumed that this would not be covered by the warranty. I was told that MTN will not repair a handset if it is not a manufacturing fault. I asked if i should pay and was told that it doesn't matter, MTN will not fix it.
I went to your store at Canal Walk where i was helped promptly by a gentleman who referred me to the MTN Repair Centre in Montague Gardens. Again, a gentleman promptly helped me with information on how i can get my device repaired by MTN at the approx cost of R2200. He said that they need the device to give me a quote first.
Does MTN find it ok for their staff to misrepresent their brand and to their clients??
Regards,
Alex
