On Wednesday 16 October 2013 at 15:10 I dialled 114 and spoke to a Vodacom customer care consultant. I requested my cellphone statements for the period March 2012- February 2013 for the purpose of calculating my income tax. The gentleman advised that it will take around three business days to retrieve which I thought was ridiculous. He also told me that "should I not receive it I should call the customer care line again". I found this to be odd. It sounded as if non-delivery was a known and standard practise at Vodacom.
Near a week later I still have no statement so I reported this to Vodacom via their Facebook and Twitter pages this morning at 08:00. Four replies via their Facebook page later (assuring me the statement was sent) I still had nothing. I got a call at 15:15 from someone I thought said his name was Shafiq but according to the sms sent to me at 15:18 his name is Dayaan Adams. During the call he assured me he will send my cellphone bills for requested period "shortly". I asked him what is his definition of "shortly" and he replied what could have been three or 20 minutes. I could not hear clearly. It is now nearly 4 hours later and I still have no statement. Pathetic.
