Excessive Data Usage on MTN Account

I have been a client of MTN since the 90's with 5 lines on contract with them. In May 2013 I upgraded 3 lines, two from iPhone 4's to iPhone 5's and one line from a Blackberry to an iPhone. It was horrific to see that my phone bill increased in June and July from an average of R 4500 to R 9000. When I called the call centre to complain they simply said that I was advised improperly by Mtn when I did the upgrades and that I should have taken out extra data bundles. Once the data bundles were added the account decreased again, but only for a little while. However, in Aug and Sep 2013 the data shot up again to more than R 9000 My house is wireless and we do not use the mobile network on the internet. MTN is quick to cut a cellphone line (all connected lines) if the account an account is not paid. I have read that there are numerous articles on the iPhone's excessive data usage which was caused by the IOS6 platform, yet this was never communicated to me when the upgrades were done. My phone bills:
Apr R 4811.95, May 7526.93, June R 9093.22, July R 4906.34, Aug R 6080.90, Sep, R 9214.37 and Oct R 6607.12 which is totally ridiculous! I pay more on phone bills than my car installments!
