We all know about Bis and how most south africans want it for free downloading. Telkom mobile is currently the only network who offers cheap, reliable uncapped bis. MTN states in all their adds that UNCAPPED BIS IS BACK. Like we know, mtn previously also allowed unlimited downloading etc so it was normal to assume it's back hence the advertising. A few days ago I bought a prepaid mnt blackberry 9320 on mtn on my edcon account, I chose mtn because I know vodacom has capped their bis. So I get home, buy r60 mtn airtime and load up my so called R59 Uncapped bis. Everything works EXCEPT I can't even download a document on the internet of 2mb. I went to a few other sites to test my theory. Tried getting a mp3 and it froze and eventually failed. After reseting phone several times I googled it and saw the horendous complaints. I noticed what mtn did not say is that their "uncapped" bis is throttled and it's not even uncapped. You can't download nor stream anything. The worst part is whatsapp isn't even free on mtn bis. I feel like I wasted my money on not only the airtime but the phone since I will lose my garuantee if I put in another sim. I am really disgusted. I'll never use MTN ever.
