Approved and declined in a day

I tried to get a new contract via the vodacom call center, after checking my credit i was told i was approved, I was told i would be contacted again to finalise the details of the porting of my number, as the system was working slow. after 2 days, i had still not been contacted.

I then went in to Vodacom Broadarces, the contract was processed and I signed the necessary documents and received my phone.

I was then contacted a day later and was told I had been declined, and that I must now return the phone. How is it possible that I was allowed to leave the store with the phone without prior approval. If this is true the oversight is not on my part. This is even more aggravating as I am already a contract holder. I was allowed to do an upgrade a 3 months earlier with no hassle and now I am told that I am declined due to non payment. The account is debited monthly and all of this is on record, but according to the Manger Luke, I will have to wait 3 months before I can apply again.

Now i am left with no phone and the cost driving back and forth to the store for a mistake that was not mine.
