Nonexistent internet connection

It's a month since I moved into the area of Crown Gardens (JHB). For the whole period, I can't connect to the internet using vodacom wifi and 3G usb modems on my laptop, tablet or Samsung smartphone. I decided to check vodacom coverage map for the area. I found that my area is only covered with Edge. I don't know what Edge speed is supposed to be. All I know is it's putting me on the edge by its stubborn refusal to download or upload anything. Spending time at home and trying to access online services (emails, etc) is so frustrating. It makes telkom's Dial up connection of previous years a breeze!
