After 50 hours no connection

I upgraded & did a sim swop while my husband got a new sim card. After more than 48 hours & endless calls to Vodacom's call centre we are now being told that the sim cards were never activated & that I have to go back to the shop who handled the contracts. This is inconvenient, time consuming & pathetic customer care. On Fri & Sat I left messages at the shop leaving my number - no coming back to me. Today I left my number for the agent - no call yet.
We actually upgraded 18 Sep. We were told that no stock was available until 23 Sep. We only got the phones Friday after WE had to follow up, and recomplete the forms.
I regret upgrading through Vodacom as my colleague and her father upgraded about a month ago and also had endless trouble. I should have seen the red lights. This is a time wasting experience. And guess what, this is my birthday - yah, no phone calls from anyone as my husband and I had a virtual disappearance. Thanks Vodacom, at least I got a happy birthday from the call centre agent.
How do I cancel a contract? Obviously Vodacom is not doing their part. This is going to be a very long 2 years.
