Waiting weeks for account activation

I applied online (4 Aug 2013) to move my Telkom line and it has been 1 up after another. After 3 weeks, suddenly my move order had disappeared from the system. Applied again. Technician did not pitch for 2 consecutive appointments - leaving me taking 3 unpaid days of leave to wait for him. He tested the line - phone worked but ADSL didn't. He said he would go and check the box up the road and be back. He never came back and apparently listed the job as complete on his side. ADSL still doesn't work. ADSL department says the service is discontinued on my account. Accounts department can't find any record of my new phone number at all, never mind the ADSL portion. Activation department says its because the order is still pending and can't be activated until the order is closed. WHAT is going on? How can I run my home business without internet? And how many days must I phone and complain and be told "it will be escalated" and "we will call you tomorrow with an update" and no-one ever does?
