I wanted to do an early upgrade, would pay the Amount said to have the contract 'paid up', as my phone was stollen and the phone given by insurance company is not what i wanted. So now i have to pay my contract up and move over to another network just so I can keep my nr. I have my own business and changing my nr is not an option. I have 4 contracts with vodacom, i will pay all of them up as it is not a big amount and move over to another network. I still do not understand as to why this cant be done. Just fed up struggling with all this nonsense. Not a very clever business move from vodacom though... Wouldnt have ported, but i would rather do so than to sit with a phone that i cant use.
