Upgraded on Wednesday but cant use the handset

I upgraded my contract on Wednesday at the MTN store in Midrand and was told to come back... drive back the following day to do a SIM swap as the handsets I upgraded to uses a micro SIM since they are not allowed to do SIM swaps after a certain time, I was not happy with this arrangement since it meant driving back to the store a second day in a row, and arriving home late, none the less, I didnt have a choice and I went back to the store yesterday and paid the R136 for a SIM swap and was told it will be working within the next 2 hours. It was still not working this morning, so I decided to put back my existing SIM into my old phone and called 808 for assistance. I explained the story and they transfered me to MTN direct, I explained myself again and they transfered me back to 808, I explained again to a call centre agent who told me that the SIM Swap failed, I should go back to the store in Midrand and ask them to help me. I asked him if there isnt something that he can do over the phone, then he changed the story and said it takes a Maximum of 24 for a SIM swap, I have to wait. This is really not on - getting a device on Wednesday and waiting for more than 2 days to use it?
