I have been a loyal Vodacom customer for 16 years. The signal in the Randpark Ridge area is shocking. Trying to do business is almost impossible. I have often resorted to driving around the area with my laptop on the seat of my car in an attempt to send e-mails. If one can get through on the phone, calls cut off half way through showing messages like Network unavailable etc. It can take up to an hour to connect to the internet and you mostly get Vodacom EDGE which is less than effective. In February 2011, I sent a e-mail to Vodacom on behalf of myself and a number of other Vodacom customers in my area. The response was that the signal had been tested and Vodacom was looking into installing a new tower in Sundowner. In January 2012, I followed up with another e-mail and requested the technicians test the signal. Again I was told the matter was being looked into and Vodacom was still "looking into" installing the new tower. I occasionally get SMS's from Vodacome thanking me for my patience and telling me the matter is being looked into. Seriously? In this day and age, how long can it take? We live in a very built up, central area and have the signal of a rural area.
