I sent my blackberry contract phone with MTN via Altech Autopage, Westwood mall branch, after 3 weeks being in for repairs, I was called in to pick up the phone being told it has been repaired. I put the phone on in the presence of the store manager, and after asking what was done to the phone, I was told that there was a software upgrade and the reason I sent the phone for repairs had been complete, i.e. the track pad and lock/unlock button had been an issue, apon starting the phone, it had asked me for my phone lock password and still had my screensaver and back ground stating that there was no such software upgrade and the faults on the device was still persistent. I was told that the device had passed quality control from the repair centre but nothing was done to the phone, the manager logged the phone back to the repair centre. A month has passed and I am paying for a contract which I am unable to use as well as the blatant disregard for customer service.
