Black Listing of Handsets

I've never seen any reason use another service provider. But this time I've been inconvenienced enough. On Sept 4th around 13:00 my iPhone stopped picking up signal (Saying "NO SERVICE" in the top left corner of the screen). I, then switched the iPhone off and back on, removed the SIM and put it back in etc. etc. etc. After 24hours of this, I phoned in to the call centre and enquired about the problem. I was then told, that my Hand Set had been Blacklisted. #1, No-one could tell me by who the request was sent in. # 2, I was then requested to get a Afidavit from the police, proof of purchase (seeing I bought the iPhone cash) and take my ID to the nearest Vodashop. I did so, filled in the UN-Blacklisting form, and it was passed on to the relevant department. This morning I got a email, saying I need to phone Telkom Mobile and deal with them. Why is this happening? How the F, did Telkom Mobile get my IMEI number? I requested the help of my service provider - VODACOM - and now I need to phone around etc...??? C'mon guys... Just because I'm a Pre-Paid client, does not mean I can't loose my trust in you guys... What's up???
