VODACOM REFUSE TO TAKE BACK BAD PRODUCT

On 27 August my wife upgraded to a R800 pm contract and received an iPhone 5. It is a disaster because:
1. The battery last until 3pm every day (iPhone 4s worked more than one whole day on same usage)
2. The phone lost the signal 3 or 4 times a day (and indicate "no service" when you realise it)
3. Dropped calls after e few seconds every single call.
4. It is no better than the iPhone 4s in any way whatsoever.
On 15 September I took it back and requested to cancel the deal.
My request was refused and they would only send it for repairs.
Today (25 October 2013) I received it back after I had to go in to ask what is going on. No phone calls.
I insisted that I don't want it because of the above problems. The salesperson said he can do nothing, I should call customer care. I called customer care and Shafika advised that she could do nothing I should visit the Vodashop? I insisted that they referred me to her, whereupon she made me hold on for ages and when she came back she said I should phone the Vodashop. She could not help me.
Now I am stuck with this useless iPhone 5 that in the drawer, but Vodacom gladly receives my R800 pm by debit order.
