No final account, and then handed over to lawye

I cancelled my account with Telkom. Unfortunately I cannot remember the date I did so, but it's been more than a year since going in twice to cancel it. I went in a week after the first time I went in to their office in Fountains Mall, Jeffreys Bay. I awaited their final account, but instead received an SMS from DMI attourneys, claiming I need to pay them an amount of money, since I was handed over by Telkom. I refused to do so, and told them to send my account back to Telkom. They never did, but left me alone for long. They contacted me today, and the amount was even higher. I told them I'd pay it, just to get them off my back.
I find it sad that I have to pay for a mistake clearly made my Telkom, not me. Had I received my final account, I would have paid it. It's near impossible to get hold of DMI. I eventually came across this email address: [Email Removed] They use it to send out emails from.
Telkom, if you'd sent me a final account, I wouldn't need to pay almost double the initial amount. I'm glad I came across a Telkom alternative.
