Cellphone service suspended

I have had a vodacom cellphone contract since April 2011, and upgraded January 2013. I got another cellphone contract for my fiance April 2013. My contract's installment per month is R560.00. and my fiance's is R300.00. the contract has a certain amount of sms's, data and minutes per month. unfortunately we both exceeded the monthly limits to our contracts, and end of June 2013 they blocked the accounts, due to a lack of funds, they kept rerunning the debit order and finance costs amounted to R800.00. even though the cellphones are unusable Vodacom still charges monthly installments each month. we feel that it is unacceptable to charge installment fees if we are unable to use our cellphones. we have looked into terminating our contracts but vodacom charges a once-off payment of 80% of the remaining installments amounting to nearly R11 000.00, which is ridiculous.
i am in the unfortunate position where i cannot pay the full outstanding balance nor can i end the contracts. i would like to know what my options are in this situation.
