Vodacom
Contract not explained

On 26 Feb 2013 at Northgate Vodacom I signed a contract for a Samsung III Mini advertised at R229 per month. In April I realised I was being charged more than R229 pm. I queried this with Vodacom, Pietermaritzburg and was told this is the contract I had purchased. I am being charged R50 for a handset, plus being billed for International SMS' etc. At no stage was I told this at Northgate nor was it explained to me that international sms' would be charged for and were not included in the 150 sms part of the deal. In fact nothing was explained to me! At Howick branch they checked my signed contract and advised that nothing had been stipulated in the Monthly Charges section other than the cost of the sim card. There is nothing showing what it would cost per month. The 'hidden costs' are apparently supposed to be stipulated on the contract and according to Howick branch this contract is in fact null and void without this information. My user details are not even on the contract! As a pensioner I cannot afford more than R229 pm. What can be done to rectify this matter? Please help. Was on a MTN 350 Anytime with Nashua Mobile for many, many years - no hidden costs.
