Vodacom
OVERBILLING BY VODACOM

I took out a Vodacom contract in Feb 2011. It expired in Feb 2013 and I have never upgraded / renewed my contract (it is on a month to month). I do not check my bill every month but noticed that it seemed to be higher than usual despite me not using my phone any differently. When I checked my bill, Vodacom had increased my subscription by R70 per month from Feb 2013 despite me never taking out another contract and for the length of the contract I had been charged R3-00 per month for sim card insurance (which I never took out!!). When I contacted them, they said that I was on a "special contract" from feb 2011 and when it ended I was then charged the higher fee - this was never stipulated in my contract as I would never have signed it. I told them I wanted my money back which they have finally agreed that they were wrong and they have been overcharging me but they have not or will not now refund my money and are still charging me the inflated subscription. Nobody is prepared to sort this out - you deal with a different person each time. This is a warning to all Vodacom subscribers to check your contracts and bills - this could be happening to you!!!
