And bad service, Vodacom ripping me off

My blackberry contract is 6 months old, phone did not charge, took it in 2 weeks ago to have it repaired. the lady who booked phone in explained the charging pin is bent and would have to be for my account but that it is not a serious repair. I phoned a week ago and was told by technician that "he has seen much worse" and it should be sorted under warranty and is being sent to advanced repair centre.
I received a call today from canal walk repair centre to say that my phone cannot be repaired and I have to pay R1880 to replace the phone. THIS IS MADNESS. it is 6 months old, its very well looked after. I have neither accepted or rejected this "quote" yet. I refuse to pay R1880 for a phone which I am paying for monthly. WHAT IS THIS? I have always been a Vodacom customer, I have 2 contracts with Vodacom and to be treated with this.
from my phone not needing much of a repair to it being a total write off???
