We took in a Samsung S3 phone to the Boksburg MTN Repair Centre to have the damaged screen repaired; the phone had been dropped and the touchscreen (which had a clearly visible crack) had become unresponsive. The phone was handed in on Mon 21 Jan 2013 for an assessment and repair quote. The repair centre informed us that the repairs are possible; they HAVE STOCK OF A SCREEN and the phone will be ready for collection on Wed 23 Jan 2013.

We enquired on Wed morning on the progress and were told we could collect the phone within 15 min, provided a proof of payment can be supplied. Payment was made via EFT and we went back to collect the phone. On arrival, the repair centre told us that they had made a mistake and realised that they didn't have stock of the screen. They would now need to bring in one from Midrand. Payment has now been made and we still have an inoperative phone!

This clear contradiction screams incompetence! Had we gone with either of two alternative repair centres, we would have had our phone on Wed 23 Jan 2013. This will be the last time we use the MTN Repair Centre!

We advise anyone to seek alternative repair centres.
