I moved to Cell C from MTN a year ago and what a nightmare it's been. Porting my no. over was just too much to ask, and I was sent from pillar to post because nobody knew how to do it. After dealing with 2 incompetent branches, I eventually went through the Sales Call Centre. On 28 August 2012, I spoke to Romano, and I very specifically asked for my contract to be 18 months and that I wanted insurance included. I'd worked out the exact amount I would pay using their website calculator. A month later I discover that Romano had made it a 2 year contract. I left it because I was so tired of fighting with Cell C at that stage. Almost a year later, I'm trying to claim on the insurance due to damage on my phone, only to find out that Romano had not loaded the insurance for me either. I called the Call Centre yesterday and was promised Romano will call me back - I've not heard from anyone yet. All calls are recorded, so I need somebody there to listen to the recording of the conversation, take responsibility for incompetence and then get my phone fixed! Clearly being cheaper is a compromise for bad service and incompetence...
