I tried buying a R300 voucher from a petrol station as well as Pick and Pay but they only had 1xR150 and 3xR50 which adds up to R300. I loaded all immediately expecting, wrongfully so, that it would be treated like a single R300 voucher recharge which would give me 900 MB of Data, etc.
The fact that you can never get R300 vouchers even from outlets they say you can is another issue entirely and should not be my problem!

I must admit I did not check the top up messages to ensure I had received the correct amount of data.
Anyway I used it expecting that when I was running out of Data I would receive notification as you do with the other networks. Well this never happened and it happily ate my remaining R300 airtime at an elevated rate of 99c per MB instead of 15c per MB as advertised all around town.

Clearly this is how they make their money from people expecting notification but never receive any.
Oh and apparently my phone downloads large amounts of data while I sleep and it's not a billing glitch. Over 50mb disappeared at midnight while sleeping and my phone only downloads email headers every hour... not entire messages and no apps running in the background. Hmmmm. Fishy!
