Contract sim got lost, called Vodacom to block the sim. understanding that I took out a 24 month contract, i continued to pay the contract depite me not receiving access to any airtime (sim was lost). This contract expired in January 2012. I was hospitalized for a period of 7 months from October 2011, in this time I was unaware that Vodacom was still deducting money for a new 24 month "re-newed" contract, automatic renewal. picked this up mid 2012 & informed Vodacom that I did not renew a contract with them, further, that they were deducting money but i had not recieved the new upgrade phone, nor was I receiving airtime since i do not have the sim anymore. was refered to the pre-legal department where i was rudely told that its not their problem if I am not recieving airtime. I have sent numerous correspondence to Vodacom, all ignored. In all this time I received no correspondence (not even a statement) from Vodacom save for the latest statement claiming I owned them money. On top of that, they have now cancelled my contract (finally), but still want me to pay the outstanding amount. If anything Vodacom needs to re-imburse me for the money deducted as I did not re-new this contract!
