Vodacom claim I have an outstanding amount

I had a Vodacom contract which I cancelled early and continued to pay off the amount owed to Vodacom as per the statement received every month via debit order. After completion of paying the amount appearing on my statement and stoping the debit order, 6 months later I receive a letter from MBD stating I still owe Vodacom. I called MBD and they say I have been handed over to them by Vodacom for an outstanding amount for my account. I called Vodacom and they say its the balance of the contract that I still owe but I was never told of any other amount and there was no statement sent to me or even appeared on the statements sent to me. Basically Vodacom are saying that there is 2 separate amounts, 1 for cancellation which was sent to me in a statement and the other which was hidden from me and which i did not know anything about. I have called Vodacom numerous times and all they can tell me is they cannot do anything and to pay an amount for which I was never informed and never even received a statement for it. They keep referring me to MBD and MBD keeps referring me to Vodacom. I would like someone from the right department to contact me and resolve it.
