Telkom - Request for ADSL 4mb line upgrade

Ordered a line upgrade mid April... Transferred R 700.00 as requested. A technician was quick to respond and came out within 2-3 days. He informed us that the "infrastructure" was not sufficient in our area and that it would take 2-3 days... He left all of his equipment at our apartment promising to return within 2 days time. It is now almost mid July and several phone calls later... Every call we make, people seem to be passing the buck and making false promises. Firstly, we were promised it may take up to a month, secondly this increased to 2 months and finally 6 months... I have been told a pvt electrician could assist us (at our expense) and after contacting one he informed us this duty (rightfully so) falls on Telkom and that he could not assist. I have been phoning almost on a daily basis and keep being past along... The last contact I made I was told to contact the wholesale department on 0800 611 116, to which there is no answer... Based on the premise this would not be a long process we set up a pvt ISP with afrihost which is a monthly fee, of which we gain no benefit in having... We are currently losing money... What does one need to do to get decent service?
