My wife has been a client of MTN for about 15 years. 12 months ago she renewed her contract and received the handset - Blackberry. After 7 months the thing started giving her problems. So MTN suggested a software upgrade. After that, the phone started to freeze, shut down and loosing battery life. This time MTN suggested that she gets a new battery. She did. Same issues.

So it was booked in at MTN, Get it back with the same issues! A second time around and now the damage is apparently to much to replace or fix! Furthermore MTN will not fix the handset (12 months warranty left).

Why? A shielding metal plate inside the phone apparently was damaged (dented) by force!!! You cant see the plate as you need to open the phone!!! The only proof is a picture from MTN. MTN reported that the dent must have happened by force. The only people who ever opened it was MTN themselves! There is no damage on the casing and the tamper stickers were in perfect order.

In short it is about not WANT to fix the problem. Why the will you damage the inside of your phone to get it replaced by refurbished hardware?
