Just give me a new number!!

I took out a contract at vodacom about a year ago., not long after taking out this contract I recieved sms regarding someones bank activities. I contacted bank but they could not help and cannot diclose info. I even had people phonin2 talk to her on this number. I then decided to go to vodacom and ask them to give me a new number as this was getting to much, texts and emails would come through all night. I was told that I would need to pay R300 for a sim swap which i was not prepared to do as this was not my fault for being issued with a old number, furthernore I was not prepared to pay R300 for a simcard that I could get for 99c. The person who assisted me was rude and arrogant, he even told me its not his problem they gave me that number and its not his problem I dont want to pay for a sim swap. The texts etc got so bad that I took the sim card out & started using a prepaid cell c one instead, I didnt care about the minutes&data I was getting i just did not want to be harrassed all day. It has probably been 6-7 months since I even used my vodacom sim and no1 at vodacom seems to wonder why even though I was told that they would swee what they could do regarding a free sim swap.
