Conversion to contract & sim swap without consent

I've been a loyal customer for so many years but the treatment I received on Friday and yesterday makes me regret staying with this network provider.

On Friday the 2nd of August, I received an sms notifying me that my prepaid number had been converted to contract. Soon after that I received another sms notifying that someone had requested a replacement sim card on the same line that had been converted from prepaid to sim. All this had been done without my knowledge or consent. I immediately contacted Vodacom customer care and was informed that inorder to get information on the account I needed account details of the business that converted the number to prepaid.

I RICA'd my number and yet Vodacom changed my account without my consent. This number is linked to my banking accounts and also my residential security. My number has been out of service since yesterday which has inconvinienced me highly.

I need answers on how any person can change one's contract as well as request a sim swap without my consent and whilst my number is still in use? Did Vodacom verifiy the 5 frequently dialed numbers with the person that requested the sim swap...? Im off-line and need answers...
